Let’s explore two ingredients, found in The Blissful Day namely, White Widow Bark and Arnica. What is White Willow Bark?
The white willow is a tree widespread throughout Southern Europe, Asia and North Africa. It is a majestic and robust tree that can reach up to 25 meters in height. Its bark is incredibly rich in tannins and has been used since ancient times for its febrile action.
Why White Willow Bark?
The white willow bark has a very similar action to aspirin but is not very irritating to the stomach lining. The content in salicin, flavonoids and tannins allows this bark to act as: anti-inflammatory, antifebrile and analgesic. This makes it ideal for various types of ailments related to the cold season such as flu, cold and headache. It also seems to be ideal for relieving pain caused by osteoarthritis, physical exertion, muscle pain and menstruation.
The ancient Greeks, but also the Egyptians and Native Americans made use of this plant to have healthier and firmer skin. The credit for this property for the skin goes to salicin, a compound that helps increase cell regeneration, relieving the inflammations that cause skin aging.
Chronic inflammations are a real problem for our appearance, as they open the way to aesthetic problems such as wrinkles. Using remedies that contain salicin, such as white willow bark-based creams, can make a difference by reducing wrinkles, shrinking pores and giving skin a sheen. Salicin can also regulate collagen production and hydration when applied directly to the skin. White willow bark extract also contains numerous antioxidants, which help destroy free radicals.
What is Arnica?
Arnica is a perennial herbaceous plant that is native to the mountains of central Europe and grows in various parts of the world, including Siberia. Even in Siberia; The flowers are completely yellow and daisy-shaped and are the part used in herbal medicine.
Why Arnica?
The active ingredients contained in arnica give it anti-inflammatory, antimicrobial, pain-relieving and circulation-stimulating properties.
Arnica is useful in case of sprains, bruises, hematomas and superficial phlebitis. It can also be used against osteoarthritis, muscle and joint pain, fracture edema and hemorrhoids.
Very useful for "repairing" the skin; thanks to its antiseptic properties it defeats skin inflammations, widely used to treat acne, boils, chapped lips and insect bites. In addition to reducing pain due to trauma such as bumps and falls, arnica also promotes the resorption of bruises.
Many studies have shown how much arnica has a remarkable almost "miraculous" impact on our skin. They have also shown that internal use is not recommended because taking arnica in medicinal doses can trigger gastric irritation and other side effects, and currently oral treatments are based on homeopathic dilutions of the remedy.
Although applied only externally, according to some preliminary studies it reduces the pain associated with osteoarthritis and can improve the function of the joints affected by the disease as much as a pain reliever.
